Did you know - Storm damage is more harmful than it may appear? Depending on the existing shingle grade, hail as little as 1" in diameter can cause damage to your roofing systems. Because of this, it's extremely important to maintain property insurance and have your roof inspected annually or after a severe storm. Small "bruises" in the shingles result in significant deterioration of the top layer of shingle granules. Over time, this exposes the fiberglass matting under the shingle granules. Because the fiberglass matting is not weather resistant, a leak is right around the corner.
Why we recommend annual roof inspections – Despite storm damage, roofing systems wear out over time. Not only do the shingles need to be inspected for structural integrity, but the caulking around vents and flashings should be evaluated often. Majority of roof leaks occur around flashings or roof vents because the caulking deteriorates much quicker than the shingles. Often, roof leaks can go on fo years before they are identified. Water and mold can severely compromise the structural integrity of your home without your knowledge. Not to mention the potential health concerns of mold accumulating in your home.
Confirmed storm damage? – No need to panic. One of our experienced projects managers can temporarily repair any damages that compromise the integrity of your roofing system. Not only can we restore your property to pre-storm condition, be we can walk you through the claims process as well. See our claim section below for more information.
When a storm hits, you only have a limited amount of time to file a claim with your insurance company. If you suspect your roof has damage, or if your home was recently hit by hail, don't delay... call RJW Construction today.

Three-Tab Shingle
– The cheapest shingle on the market
Dimensional/Architectural Shingle (30 Year)
– Has a double layer minimum coverage
Dimensional/Architectural Shingle (40 Year)
– High quality, thick shingle composed of two layers of material per shingle
Dark shingles should last as long as lighter shingles given that they are installed on a house that has a properly vented attic. Proper attic ventilation is the key component to a longer-lasting roof.
Material warranties are usually issued by the manufacturers for periods of 25-40 years.
The ridge is the top of your roof, which runs level to the ground (does not have a slope). The ridge is usually covered with ridge caps (short shingles laid in a straight line) or, preferably, with a ridge vent.
A valley is created when two main roof decks intersect each other. The resulting junction resembles a valley.
Cleanliness is very important. Yes, we clean our work area and the surrounding yard area at the conclusion of every work day.
All debris is taken to the landfill and disposed of properly.
We can install a roof year-round, with only minor adjustments due to severe weather conditions.

Quality - GAF Armorshield is a class IV impact resistant shingle. When it comes to durability, this is one of their top of the line products. Wind warranty for this shingle is 130mph.
Aesthetic – Weathered Wood (or equivalent) is on of the most common colors installed on residential projects. It's grayish color makes it extremely versatile. It'll look good with just about any brick color, but won't do much to add any curb appeal to your home.
Recommended color palate – Because the shingle color is so versatile, it'll blend well with any brick color. But our top brick color choices include dark brown, red, and white. It also looked great with the pinkish brick on the project below.
